![]() Went back studying at Uni and is therefore selling of most ofhis collection. All the other guitars are his too, they are all in great condition. He bought the Tokai when he was working there. He played in two bands, had loads of Guitars. Went to the pawn shop, talked to the employee and owner of the Tokai. The yellowie nobs and switch cover but white pickguard and PU covers.at least to my untrained eyes. anything in particular I should ask? From what I have found on the net and here in this cool forum, things look original. My plan is to go back there this eve, and ask the guy a few questions about it. it just feels right, if that is the right Expression. One Thing I can say, is that I really love how it feels, Plays (unplugged). Just saying it might be the safer way.who knows.īut if you set on something.you know how it is.this one looks to be fate Well a 2nd Hand MIM maybe not, around 500. or would It be better of, getting another one, a Fender from the store, or a second Hand MIM Fender.but it would be around the same Price as the Tokai here. is there much to upgrade or Fixing if this Guitar is really from 1981? I mean, a set up is OK.but if there are Parts to be changed after that Long and at the end it will cost me another few hundereds.I cannot afford that right away. So now I ask myself, is this an Original Tokai as it says on the Tag? is it worth that Kind of Money? Is it a good guitar to start on, can I grow on it? or is it something for the "pros". Well for what it's worth, better that way then if the Tokai came from a Liquidation or something.I think. I asked the woman at the Counter if the Price is negociable? she said that all the Guitars belong to an employee of the Pawn shop, and I Need to talk to him. I heard about Tokai before, but haven't really informed myself. after some Internet Research (this Forum too on the spot, I realised the Price wasn't that much off. Didn't think there was a guitar in the Pawn shop that expensive. ![]() there is no amp there, so I just played unplugged. I sat down noodling on it for at least 30/40min. So Overall, the Instrument feels great and it Looks great, exactly the way I imagined my electric to be. the frets and Hardware look quite new too.but as I said, I have no knowledge of stuff, it's just my Impression. well, some dings and Dongs, but very minor. I think, but correct me if I am wrong, it's a vintage neck, like 7.25 radius, thinner frets etc.whatever, it just feels great. ![]() I really liked that neck when being at his place. It reminds me of the Fender Road Worn 50' Telecaster neck of my friends. Feels very nice, the neck, even though its gloss, feels very cool. in the Color's I like the most, black and White. a Squier Jazzmaster, a Cort, some Bass Guitars.AND A TOKAI SPRINGY SOUND STRATOCASTER. I come to the Music section and surprisingly there are a few electric guitars on the wall. I like hanging around in there, check stuff and drink a coffee.so, I walk in and have a look around. Usually they have 1, 2 acoustic, pretty beaten up stuff. So I take a walk later on at my town and pass the Pawn Shop I drop in every now and then. so long stoy short, I didn't go to the Shops as stuff with the Kids etc went in the way. the Fender Player Series are CHF 700.- (which is top of my Budget), the CP60' goes for 750.- on this sale. Prices here for a new Classic Player are ca CHF 1.200.- which is more or less 1 to 1 in USD. I wanted to try the new Fender Player series, some MIM ones, and there was a Fender Classic Player 60' on sale. Last Saturday I was thinking to go to one or two Guitar Shops in Zurich (biggest town in Switzerland), it's 30min from my place, so quite easy. As I understand with electrics, the Sound can be changed going fwd, PU etc.but as I read here, Tokai's should sound pretty good eh -) But I realised, that this is a big factor for me, i want to grab thst guitar, want to play it and feel great doing it. I know Sound should be on top of the list, and of course, I will not buy a guitar only on looks and feel. the neck, the Body, just being the Instrument I feel comfortable with and also like the looks. Im not a "Brand" guy per se, I want my first e-guitar to be the right "Feel". So I am pretty comfortable that the Strat is what I want. Tried his Teles, Strats etc, and I got hooked with the Strats. I have a mate playing guitar for decades now and I am able to use his electrics when I am over. I am a beginner altogether, so not much Knowledge here. I am in the process of buying my first electric guitar, I narrowed it down to a Strat. I am from Switzerland, so please excuse my english Just introduced myself in the appropriate section today.
